Welcome to MICACT Training School 2018 in Darmstadt

Thank you for your interest in the topic of Electroactive Polymers. We are proud to invite you, on behalf of the MICACT network, to participate in the 2018 Training School on Electroactive Polymers hosted in Germany at Technische Univeristät Darmstadt.

The Training School is intended for scientists to share their experiences who are working in the field of Electroactive Polymer Transducers and help them to integrate into the research activities taking place inside and outside the MICACT network. The participants will be informed about different applications and further aspects about DE technology. Furthermore, we are organizing two workshops about writing a CV or cover-letter and how to survive in the industry "After the PhD, What's next?" and we are visiting a well-known company.

Talks, workshops and company visit are taking place from Tuesday, january 23th, 2018 at 08:30 and will end on Thursday, january 25th, 2014 at 18:30.

Darmstadt is located in the south of the federal state of Hesse in Germany. It is famous for being one of the two centres of Jugendstil (Art nouveau) in Germany. The Künstlerkolonie (Darmstadt Artists' Colony) with the wedding tower, located on the Mathildenhöhe, is for sure worth a visit. The swimming bath "Jugendstilbad" even allows to enjoy swimming, sauna and spa in an historic ambiance.

The city centre with it's stores, museum (Hessisches Landesmuseum, SchlossmuseumKunsthalle), theatres (Staatstheater Darmstadt), historic buildings (Residnenzschloss, Orangerie) and parks (Rosenhöhe, Schlossgarten), invite you to discover Darmstadt and it surroundings. More information about how to discover Darmstadt can be found at the official website of the city.

30 km north of Darmstadt, the city Frankfurt am Main, financial hub and home of the European Central Bank is also worth a visit.
